Day 83 “Thriller ” chairs

22nd October 2017
“We’re to meet this guy in a parking lot” she said. “What guy?” I enquired.

“The guy with the chairs”

” What chairs?”

“The ones advertised on Craig’s List”

“So you want us to go to a parking lot, late on a wet Sunday evening to buy some chairs from a stranger?”

“Yes”

“Let’s go then”

The rain was heavy as we set off, images of crazed undead creatures roaming a deserted parking lot, made me think of the people who visit the late night supermarkets.

We pulled into the parking lot.

“We’re to wait over by the fence”

We pulled up next to a dark four-wheeled vehicle.

Out got Chewbacca’s younger brother, a short stocky hairy man with no neck, but bemused that anyone would want what he was carrying.

We transferred the two chairs, and Kelli handed over five bucks, then we went our separate ways.

Looking at the chairs in the light of the garage I could see the full extent of their condition.

You can’t expect much for the money, and I have seen better firewood, they resembled the seats zombies would sit on as they emerged from the ground.

“They look cool” Kelli exclaimed. Cool is a word to describe virtually everything with potential, but here I believe we have stretched that word to its limit.
