8th January 2024
Have you ever thought of what it must be like on South Shore Drive at 2.30am? Let me tell you, it’s bloody quiet.
Kelli was having problems getting to sleep, so, as I was awake at the time, I suggested taking a walk. We dressed up in warm clothes and headed out into the darkness. There was nothing about except a rabbit that looked at us as if we were aliens. We walked on, nothing stirred. I started thinking “what if someone is up and sees use walking up their street, and thinks that we are a threat?”
It didn’t look good, I was wearing the head covering that Kelli got me for Christmas, it’s warm, but it make me looks like I’m wearing a hajib. Not a good look that early in the morning.
We did a circle of the area, noting who had their Christmas lights on even after the 6th.
Getting back home, the warmth felt good, however the bed was cold by now, so a bit of shivering occurred. Kelli likes a cold room to sleep in, the window is open prior to sleeping, I have to close it otherwise the penguins chattering teeth would keep her awake.
We both manage to sleep through to about 9.00am, even the noise of the neighbours vehicles starting up did not disturb us, so a result there.
