We had a lot on our plate today, first I had to sweep up another batch of fallen leaves. There is always plenty of them, I stacked them up on the side of the road awaiting the city pick up crews.
Then we had to get the paint for Lloyd and Nancy’s kitchen doors. This was the best kind for the durability, and it was expensive at sixty eight dollars a gallon.
Next stop was the phone shop to pay my bill. It was annoying that the one closest to us had closed, so we had to travel to the north side instead.
Of course while we were that side, we couldn’t not visit Goodwill.
I did my usual scout around the furniture section to see if there was anything with potential, but there was nothing, so I entertained myself by looking through the CD’s DVD’s and books. There were the old faithful Kenny G and Celine Dion discs in abundance.
Looking through the books it is obvious where they come from. Most of them from house clearances because there are titles like “A life beyond “, “I’ll live forever “, and “ What happens next”
I’m sure most of the books will be there the next time we visit, or they will be cremated and the ashes sprinkled around the local library, a fitting place of remembrance.
We were a little late starting on our jobs, I wanted to get one side of the kitchen doors primed, before it got dark, and I just about got that done before the cold of the evening drew in.
