Day 2708 Arthritis or rigor mortis?

13th January 2025

Off we drove to Fennville, about half an hour south, to collect a nearly free dresser. Nearly free meant it was five dollars, well within our budget.

It was bitterly cold again, even the petrol flap on the truck froze, which was slightly inconvenient because we were low on fuel. Fortunately I was able to prise it open with a key, cursing as the wind rattled my bones.

Then we set off, the roads were icy in places, but not bad enough to stop us on our journey.

We did encounter a steepish hill leading into the outskirts of the town. This we took carefully, and at the bottom was the place we were looking for.

It was a small hotel, out in the wilds, one wonders if it’s a place where lost travellers end up.

Kelli knocked on the door to be greeted by the lady of the house, she had already removed the drawers making it much easier to handle the dresser carcass.

Then packing everything in to the truck we headed off back up the hill, and back to Holland.

Today was another good day for sales. First we finally sold the bureau, and also the two side tables, meaning there is only the small desk left.

I started on the repair to the oak dresser by inserting new wood into the damaged front post.

I want to get that finished soon as we are picking up two more dressers tomorrow.

I am a practical person, I love making things, and especially working with wood. I appreciate good design, music and food.
