We took a risk and drove to the range, it had been a few weeks, so we needed the practice.
One of the ranges was occupied, but the best end one was free, so we jumped on it.
There was still about four inches of snow on the ground, but I cleared a space with a broom from where we would shoot from.
We fired off two hundred rounds between us, I was better than I expected, but Kelli was a bit off. It’s easy to get despondent, but that what practice is all about. It’s all about analysis and adjustment, but what do I know? I just point and shoot, sometimes I hit what I want and other times I’m lucky to hit the target at all.
We were determined to finish the large dresser today. Kelli had given it a final coat of paint before we went to the range, so once we got back I peeled off the masking tape from the top and set about applying the oil. That brought out the fabulous cherry colouring, it looked like it was on fire. On the drawers there was an octagon detail that we covered up before painting. When those were finished I peeled off the tape and oiled that detail, it really set off the piece, I really hope it goes quickly, as we have the big oak monster still in the car.
