3rd February 2025
After a bit of sleep in Ryan and Louise’s spare room, with Bobby the dog, I awoke to my first English morning.
I wanted to get to the cottage early as I was expecting the installation man for the new boiler to arrive. That all changed when I received a message to say that he was sick and unable to carry out the work, I was pissed.
I had arranged the time, because I know I was back in the country and did not have any other appointments. I call the office to try and reschedule for tomorrow, I was told to receive a call to keep me updated.
I decided to use my time out on the garden cutting back new shoots from all the area I had desimated on a previous trip. Although I had added stump destroyer, it was still thriving.
Also the state of the next door neighbour had gotten worse. She had made some attempts to clear the brambles, as evident by three Hippo bags partially full of cuttings.
That was convenient, so I added my stuff to those. It was a lovely sunny, warmish day, so I was happy with the progress I had made.
I later had a call from the heating company saying that the guy was still sick and not available for Tuesday, I was not happy at that news.
As there was no heat or hot water it the cottage, it was great to go back to Ryan and Louise’s warm home.
The meal she prepared certainly warmed me up on the inside.
