The beach was almost deserted, the sun was shining, and some brave sailors were out on the big lake. Kelli, the dogs and I, were taking the fresh air along the waters edge. This is the time when you can pretend that all this is yours.
A very hungry fish.
I had spent the morning oiling the top and fronts of the four drawer dresser, and repairing the zombie chairs. The effects of my cold are still present, but I feel much better.
I lit a fire outside thinking it would give out a little bit of heat, instead all it produced was thick clouds of smoke. I didn’t know if my coughing was due to the fire or the cold, but the exercise did me good.
Kelli bought some crackle effect liquid that is suppose to have some effect on the paint, she was using it on a bench that I had to fill in a heart-shaped hole. She covered the bench in this crackle stuff, then went over it with a light colour, as the effect started, it worked everywhere except where I had filled the heart.

I have been cursed with this job, I lovingly cut a wooden plug, then bonded it into the hole, filled it, then painstakingly sanded it until l could not feel any imperfections, but still it shows through.

If you paint a base coat thickly with gloss onto the wood, then while it is still wet use a spray paint over the top, when it dries you get an amazing crackle effect and it’s fun to watch as it dries. I did this with black base and gold spray on a table top and it looked almost like chinese laquer work.
