Today is Earth day, or at least that is what my calendar said, not sure what I’m supposed to do for it, I have a pile of dirt in the back garden, but I was hoping to use that as dressing for the lawn.
We had a visit from the utility people who wanted to install a new water monitoring device, I said “ Help yourself”
Of course they asked me where the old one was, and I didn’t have a clue.
I thought it was outside with all the other meters, but it wasn’t.
Now looking like a complete plank we went in search of this device.
“It’s usually next to the stop valve”
That was no good I didn’t know where that was either.
Not a very good advertisement for a home owner who doesn’t know how to turn off the water supply.
Eventually we got to the crawl space cover.
The engineer stuck her head down and declared that it was there, along with the stop valve.
I felt better that I knew where that was, so I did learn something new today.
I finished the dresser with the built in organiser, and stripped all of the old veneer off the top of the other dresser we picked up earlier in the week.
I burnt my fingers a couple of times on the stops of lifted veneer, “Damn they retain the heat”.
