Day 1692 lunch break

30th March 2022

We finished re-assembly of the large corner unit, tweaking the doors so they fitted well and aligned with each other. It was tricky carrying it into the house to take the pictures. Fitting the triangular glass and wood shelves into the unit was challenging, there is definitely a technique getting them to fit correctly that we learnt.

I bonded the walnut veneer to the drawer front, always a stressful operation getting everything clamped down. Even with a bit of preparation, I still had to reposition the clamping boards several times. I will leave it overnight and see what happened in the morning.

We decided to go out for lunch to a small cafe just down the road. This is the place she wants to go for her birthday bash with her family, she knows the owner, and she caters for vegans. It’s a cool place , it’s close and we like to patronise a local business.

By the time we got back we couldn’t be assed to do anything else, so we skived off early.

I am a practical person, I love making things, and especially working with wood. I appreciate good design, music and food.
