Day 3255 Getting organised.

15th July 2026

After a shitty night where I kept reliving the accident, I awoke to find the doors still stoved in,

the night repair angels failed to do their job.

Over breakfast we hatched a plan to fix the truck. I set a maximum budget  that I was prepared to pay, so Kelli phoned around to get a feel for the price for salvaged doors. She then called a body shop close to us and arranged to call round to get an estimate.

Mike at Kimber Auto Body and Paint was a pleasant chappy, there was no sudden intake of breath, or smacking of lips, we talked through what options there were, and he went off to prepare a quote.

The cheapest option was to try to buy parts that were already in the colour of the truck, so when we got back home Kelli set off tracking a passenger side front and rear door and a front wing. She called several breakers and managed to find a front door and front wing in white. The back door was burgundy, so that will have to be painted.

So parts from two different breakers will be delivered direct to Kimbers, and a booking for next Thursday.

All this took a lot off my mind, I was able to concentrate of jobs in the garage.

Phew it was humid, even Winnie is struggling to cope, this is the first summer in her life, I bet she longs for the cold.
