Day 3330 The floor job.

28th September 2016

Off to Menards to collect the OSB sheets that I ordered last week. I managed to get them on the roof rack with the aid of a fork lift. I had to buy more membrane sheet than I needed due to “stock” issues, I drove back carefully because the worse part was to come.

When we moved in we made a decision to cover the floor covering in the sun room with a loose outdoor carpet, now it was time to remove it.

This had been glued down, and although the carpet itself came up, the backing was still firmly attached to the concrete slab.

I had borrowed a shingle scraper from Matt, it had a sharpened edge, and I hoped that would scrape off all the foam backing.

It took me three hours of hard scraping to remove it, the rubbish bin is now overflowing with old carpet, the hard bit has been done.

The chaos is causing anxiety for poor old Kelli, all the plants are outside, but the furniture had to be brought back in to protect them from the dew.

Tomorrow we move into the fun bit.
